Former world champion, Jonathan Duhamel won $239,830 right after winning the $5,000 NLHE side event.  His victory came a few days after he was placed in fourth place in the High Roller event for $313,600.  The current world champion Pius Heinz finished fifth in the $5k side event that Duhamel won.

In another side event, Jamil Wakil scored his biggest ever live tournament win after winning $10,000 in the $1,000 Survivor tournament.  The tournament which boasted a 128 strong field, split its prize pool so as to distribute as many $10,000 prizes as it could.  All in all there were 12 prizes and the EPT and WPT champion, Roberto Romanello was one of the players.
